Calico - Robotic Ceramic 3D Printing

The major project of my placement year at Lazerian. For 8 months we developed the use of an ABB robot arm taken from Jaguar-Land Rover to 3D print a 16 part desk, tiles, stools and plant pots using stoneware potters clay. The project was for a new development in the early 1900s Calico design offices. The objects are a reflection of the original roller print process, and the patterns are taken from archived material from the office itself.

Calibration and Documentation
Installed and calibrated a plastic extruder for use in a future project. Created a guide outlining setup, running, and troubleshooting of the ceramic and plastic print processes from model to product.
